you could try saline (boil water, let cool, add about 1 tsp. salt to a 1/2 cup water) to wash her nose 2 x a day until you find some manuka honey. natural food stores or health stores/vitamins and where they sell some food items/organic are where you find M. honey.
Take care,

Well i have a very big problem now, seems like Snowy is in actual fact a male! I've noticed over the last week how her privates changed and then today when i checked my little girl has some pretty huge balls!!!!? I'm not 100% sure cause i was never very good with sexing but tbh they are freaking hard to miss! There both about 10 weeks old so if they are male and female would they have mated by now? What the hell do i do?

Hmm,it Poka is definately female I would separate them as they can mate at a fairly young age,you should be ok but I'm not an expert with this problem. How is Snowys' nose and other issues?

Yeah apart from being male *dies inside* shes fine my dad went to a vet and he said we should put them both back on antibiotics for 2 weeks or so, snows not had anymore stroke things and she/he? does not seem in pain with her/he? nose anymore, but if i seperate them it's cruel isnt it? They have become attached to each other and i know gerbils need company and what if pokas already pregs!!? Lol good god these 2 just seem out to give me a heart attack dont they.

if you don't seperate them, then Poka will get pregnant. That can lead to alot of difficulties, too. I don't know if you want to get two more gerbils after what you've gone through with these two,it's your choice. I'm sure you will make the right one for them.

God i honestly dont know what to do! I adore them both and it would kill me to give them away espesh back to college where poopy first years dont know how to handle small animals or a pet shop where there in a small tank waiting to be chosen and the fact they will be seperated from each other, i've been researching all night and i read an article that said how the babies have problems if the gerbils there bred from are to inbred and i know there not inbred but tbh i dont want them have incest babies! lol bad times and poka has seems more heavier than snow as of late we just thought she was a fatty! i really dont want to give them back to that poopy college i just want them to be happy, they might just be gerbils to other people and even i did not expect to get so attached to them but i love them sooooo much and even after all the stress i dont regret having them at all, just gunna sleep it off tonight and consider my options and stuff :/

i thought of this yesterday,do you have a vet there that may be able to neuter Snowy? but if he has health issues, that option may be out. I'd keep them both and if possible, get them each a friend but you need the extra money for that,so if that's an issue, maybe not. I'm sure you will make the right choice for them. take care, Tammy
