I have gerbils and I am currently feeding them ecotrition, but they don't eat most of the pellets and what not. I was thinking about Mazuri but don't know much about it. Also i want something I could give to a small hamster. Also, I know for hamsters you can give them bird seed as a treat once and a while, can you do the same for gerbils?

I stopped buying food from pet stores. My Gerbs got bored of it and resorted to throwig it through the bars of the tank topper onto the kitchen floor - the other half wasn't chuffed about that lol. I now buy my gerbil food from the local market and they love it that much they fight over who has the last pumpkin seed.

I feed mine Forti-Diet (Kaytee) and mine will not eat the pellets either. They pick through it and leave the pellets.

Hiya, Gerbils are all like that mine and my degus AND my hamster dont eat all the pellets... pish! The technique you can use is to just leave the bowl of food in their cage/tank until they eat everything, because they will. What they are doing is the spoilt kid thing of i dont want to eat my vegetables, give me more icecream. Where as if you dont give them tmore food they will eat the pellets . I use either wagg or Gerri Gerbil. Gerri is my most favourite to use for the gerbils, its a lovely mix and they eat pretty much everything . x

I use ecotrician organic blend...idk if it is the same one you are talking about but i do know they like the ecotrician organic blend more then just ecotrician...especially the little seeds in it. It is also very healthy for them, but if i were you i wouldn't use the fiesta party mix for gerbils, i hear they don't like it and it can be fattening for them!

I also use Ecotrician that I get from Petco. It's some of the healthiest they can eat, and it's cheaper than the most of the other garbage they sell!

I just made the switch to gerri gerbil myself (I have to order it from a website but it's about the same price or cheaper than in the store, so it's worth it) and they took to it right away! I'm almost through my first package of it and already have 3 more coming! I've HEARD ecotrition is probably the best for them if you cant get gerri gerbil mix but, for all the raving about the brand, I wanted to try it and it really is a gorgeous mix. It looks like stuff *I* would want to eat as a gerbil lol If you want the website of where I order mine from, let me know and I can link it here or in pm

I found a website that sells a 2lb bag of Supreme Gerri premium gerbil food for around $12 after shipping, US supplier, not sure if this is a good deal, but its not much more then what I pay for my food already(I currently get a bag for 5.99 but its not 2lbs its much less). I'll update you guys with the website if it turns out all good when I receive it.

I use Ecotrition as well. All of the little animals I've owned are brats and don't eat the tiny seeds or the pellets until they absolutely have to.

grreat choice is what is use for my gerbils. It's a "fattie brand" but i haven't got the money for now to switch to a better brand/ make a homemade mix~ although I'm trying to make the switch soon. I might get the Happy Gerbil Munch being promoted via the forum.
