Are you calling one of your gerbils Aleister?

strangely I had thought about it, one of my bosses is called Alastair so i did debate it
have just measured the space where I want to put the tank
its 4ft (48 inches across), probably 1.5ft (18 inches) deep and at least 2ft (24 inches) Tall
This could be a rather large tank

No, it looks small, it has a bad flooring andthe gerbils get stuck and its a gerbilarium I hate toppers and bars.

No, it looks small, it has a bad flooring andthe gerbils get stuck and its a gerbilarium I hate toppers and bars. It is a compact size, which needn't be problematic. But bad flooring? Stuck gerbils? Gerbilarium? A bit of explanation needed for these arbitrary comments. Maybe you're worried about mesh flooring? Java wood branches and perches make use of "up" space.

Like I said, I have used both this version and the larger version of the gerbilarium, and still have them, and none of the gerbils I have had in them have got 'stuck'? I don't get what you mean by bad flooring either? It's practically the same as a tank floor. They are not the best or most ideal homes for gerbils, but my gerbils actually seem to prefer them to tanks and bin cages!

shouldnt it be a honest opinion? thats my honest opinion. the gerbils can get stuck in grid floor, it looks very small for me. and i have never liked toppers. and theyre tale can get stuck in the bars to. EDIT: and if you have alot of bedding it can get every where

The bedding does get kicked out the cage a lot, I experience that! lol But I don't mind cleaning it up regularly. and I have never had any problem with injuries or tails etc. getting stuck in the bars etc. But I have heard about ones that have, so it is possible. I understand what you mean now, ksgerbil, about 'stuck' I like the toppers, but it us all down to personal preference and the gerbils really

some gerbils dont care about the bars, but some do and start chewing.. and i dont whant to takethe chance of spending so much money risking bars chewing when you can avoid that easly and giving the gerbils more space

i've just upgraded my gerbils from one of these, i found it to be very messy, they were constantly kicking out sawdust/bedding when trying to borrow, i was having to hover sometimes 3 times a day! it was fine when they were young but as they grew they didnt have space to run around, now my eldest gerbil is over weight. they also were constantly biting on the bars, that stopped as soon as they got in the bigger tank, and they look much happier if you have a p@h near you look for one of these www.petsathome.com/shop/aquarium-by-clearseal-(available-in-store-only)-36345 i got a 3ft tank for £40 but used the topper of the old tank to hold the water bottle and food bowls

Tanks can be unwieldy and a bit of a faff. Comes down to personal preference.

The tanks with P@H actually work out cheaper than the gerbilarium :s
