www.youtube.com/watch?v=8x9eKJ1zPssI flagged their video, and many people have let them have it in the comment section. The mom just disgusts me with how nice and innocent she tries to act and the son just creeps me out. I've read her responses in the comments and she refuses to believe her son is holding the gerbil too tight. Discuss.

That's horrible. I didn't think it could get any worse and then he squeezed its head or whatever he did at the end. Really sad to watch. Maybe the kid doesn't understand, although he looks old enough to understand how to treat animals, but his mum definitely should and it's quite shocking how she acts.

Me too. I just want to take him home and show him what a good home is like. It makes me really sad to see animals mistreated. There are so many good homes he could've gone to and he ended up there. I hate to think what happened to him.

The son seems to be loving his gerbil to death... What is even more scary are the comments praising this video...

I didn't see it as "loving it to death". He's treating it like if it was a dog or a toy. Some of the comments are polite and just telling them what they're doing wrong. Others are just hilarious. Probably the only upside to the whole situation.
Here is a comment from the idiot mom after so many people told her off:

The fact that so many people are criticizing their actions should tell her something! I hate it when people refuse to admit they are in the wrong.

It is sad and the gerbil is obviously terrified, but I don't think they deserved some of those comments. They probably just had no idea, a lot of people just don't understand animals, period. And even if they did know, they don't deserve swearing and cussing over a gerbil. Not saying they should do it, just that some of those comments were a little over the top. It is sad though that she obviously can't take the advice of so many people.

The kid and the mother in the first video give me the creeps. I mostly feel sorry for the gerbil, but I also pity the kid - it's not his fault that he is being raised by an idiot. I couldn't even finish watching the second video. Tying string around it's waist??? That's not a leash, it's a noose! Poor thing is terrified and cold - kept trying to run up the stupid kid's legs.
This is why I don't look for gerbil videos on YouTube.
