No, they should be warm but we need more information. Are they in an enclosed nest? Is there a parent gerbil there regularly? Is mom feeling ok?

I have sort of a sticker that you plug in and then it gets warm ( don't know whats it's called in english). They usually place the nest close to that. It it is not very expensive and much easier to use than a heat lamp

If they're being cared for well I don't really see how it's possible for them to be cold. The parents put out enough body heat sitting on them and the enclosed nest maintains it. They're not supposed to be hot either. If they're behaving normally they're warm enough. I'm confused.

If the pups are cold then the parents must not be caring for them properly. Have the parents been in the nest as much as normal? Are there any distractions that could be causing the parents to ignore the pups - such as a wheel, something to chew on, or loud noises in the background?

How old are the pups? And are they develop according to their age?

Have you checked for clicking noises in their breathing?

Maybe if you post some pics of the pups. We might be able to be more helpful then.

The pups look puffy to me. Have they opened their eyes? Are they curious and running all over the place to explore the tank? Have they started eating solids?
By they way: I just love the mottled black pups. I have two pups with the same colours as yours :-)
