Its been six since I came home to find two "male" gerbils sitting in a split tank with Nico, courtesy of my grandfather. And so much has happened with these little cuties. Jason turned into Jassie when the sex mistake was realized. She has since turned into Nico's companion and is the most hyper outgoing little thing, though she always sits still for her treats. She didn't even know how to dig but now she's building the most elaborate tunnels. Ethan couldn't be handled without leather gloves because of his biting, and my hands are full of scars from his taming. Though he never learned to get along with Nico he now rules his own tank and enjoys getting his head rubbed, though he still hates to be picked up, he doesn't bite anymore. They are no longer those scruffy little pups who had never chewed cardboard, dug a tunnel, or had yummy treats. Jassie is the first one I hear from if nighttime snack is late, and Ethan is quick to chew the bars of his topper if his hay or cardboard runs out.

Thanks for the update! They look good! Are Jassie and Nico in a permanent split, or are you planning to breed them?

Thanks for the update! They look good! Are Jassie and Nico in a permanent split, or are you planning to breed them? They are in a permanent split with two layers of mesh keeping them from breeding, but allowing them to interact. I may breed them later since I LOVE Jassie's personality but not til I have room.

Demonic-they are looking so good. How is your little mouse doing? The one that was a tank mate with Luke.

Chloe is doing great. After her declanning from Nico she was moved in a split cage with her daughter Calypso and now the two are living happily together

just curious do you have to split cage mice too? I'm glad to hear chloe is okay. Normally no. Usually you take their cage, give it a through cleaning with vinegar and replace any toys or things that can't be cleaned so the tank smells neutral. Then given them some bedding and hides and place them in and monitor for a few hours. All my other mice intros including introducing Chloe;s 2 week old pups to my female clan were done this way. But Chloe is very aggressive for a mouse. She frequently caused ball fights when I tried to reintroduce her to her sisters, and even attacked her own pups. After this is when she escaped and went to live with Nico and Luke for the second time. After she decided to beat the crap out of Nico I left her alone for two weeks and then split caged her with daughter so she was lonely. Calypso is a very submissive female and they quickly bonded and were allowed to live together. Today I'm going to add them back to my female clan which consist of two other females and see how things go.

Wow! Ethan and Jassie look soooo much better. Good job! I'm sure they are so happy to be living with you. Also good to hear an update on Chloe. Her, Nico and Luke's is one of my favorite pet stories!
