I've seen a lot of discussion on this topic recently and thought I'd make a thread about it. What do you use to cover the mesh floors of a tank topper? I'd love to see what other people use and maybe get some ideas. Currently I'm using grass mats, and I've used cardboard in the past as well as boards made from popsicle sticks.

I use linoleum flooring. Its easy to cut to fit, nice and soft on little paws, and best of all easy to disinfect. Luke tried to nibble it once and never did it again. And Ethan hasn't eaten it at all.

And Ethan hasn't eaten it at all. Linoleum sounds like an excellent idea! Will give it a try. I usually use cardboard, which gets chewed up and/or exchanged every few days. Egg carton tops are a favourite.

that's the wrong thing.
Its actually vinyl flooring. Had to go ask my grandfather who installed it. Not sure if you can get it in small batches maybe check Craigslist

I work at Homebase, UK and we sell sample vinyl tiles. These are the self adhesive ones though.

Has anyone ever used ceramic tiles? I've been reading some stuff that makes it sound as though vinyl may not be the safest option

Ceramic tiles would be safe but they might be a bit too heavy. They're also not the cheapest or easiest to find in small amounts, and they're cold, so in the winter/fall it wouldn't be ideal.

The adhesive ones would probably work. Maybe stick them to cardboard or something? I've used the vinyl for about a year without issue. And my little ones don't chew it
