Pine trees in the UK are different then the ones we have here in the US. They have very little oil compared to ours. So the kiln drying removes all of them. And I know a lot of people from the UK on this forum use the Snowflake bedding T0m and Nzcage I believe use it. Sorry hadnt seen this reply, but ohh alot of people say the trees are different but kilning hadnt been prooved to get rid of the oils :s i dunno, it confuses me hmmm, if i cant find aspen ill get some snowflake bedding then ;D thankyou soo much xx

I don't like in the UK, but I've always gotten the same Pine shavings, and they've never hurt my gerbils ever.

I use to use snowflake wood shavings but one of my gerbils is very sensitive to dust and it use to make him sneeze all the time, I then used carefresh for a short time and didn't have any problems with it (apart from the cost) but I now use megazorb and this is the best bedding I've used by far, its good for holding tunnels when mixed with hay and shredded paper and its alot cheaper in the long run as it comes in such big bags thats last months and months. So I would defo recommend megazorb.
