Hey folks, just wanted to pop in and say I hope everyone's well!
Been a pretty long time since I've been on, enjoying my wee read at things I've missed! In a nutshell, the boys are all good. Twitch's health seems to have been improving, so we might be on the lookout for a wee pal for him. Good times !
Fang's had no post op issues, although lately he's been making some strange noises. Not sure how to explain really, wee mumbles and chirps as he goes about his business. Any ideas?
Thanks!

HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII WELCOME BACK! <3 I MISSED YOU!!! How are all the boys?!!!? Maybe Fang just got more verbal with himself after surgery because he feels better now? In what context does he chirp and mumble?

haha hellooooo!
Crash and Jaws are the same as ever, good boys that give me no grief haha. Twitch is still a very strange little man, temperament wise though he's a lot friendlier. Health wise, he's still not 100% but it's been months since any blood, and his poops are solid around 70% of the time now! Since his being ill has calmed down a lot, we're on the look out for a lone male to introduce to him.
Fang continues to keep me on my toes! I think I'm a bit overprotective of him tbh. The redness in his nose, which has always been a problem, has calmed down a little but is still an issue. As for the noises he's making- it's not all the time, and at its worst it can be a bit raspy. If I'm being honest with myself, I suspect an RI or something similar. Probably looking at taking him to the vets soon, though I do fear a 'the cancer spread to his lungs' discussion. He's still very bright and doesn't seem to be in pain, but you never know with these wee guys.
This video is from when it had just started, and i'm not sure how well you can hear him. I had him out a few minutes ago, but of course he decided to be quiet today so no new video!
It seems to come on when he's excited- feeding, digging etc. It sounds like an inquisitive wee noise, but I've never heard it from a gerbil before!
Dr Digby, how are your wee babies?

Yeah that sounds like the noise a guinea pig would make and I can hear it fine. Its almost a noise he makes when he is excited but at the same time it could be he is breathing only so much because of his little sickness so its kind of like asthma I'll say?
My girls are nutbars honestly. Amelia has calmed down alot now that I get them out for playtime more often where as Quorra is just hyper and a butt. She wont stay in her play pen for long she will hop the fence and want my attention. If I dont give her attention she is upset by it XD Her sister Amelia just goes about her business while playing.

Hello! Glad to hear everyone is doing (moderately) well. =) Is fang still living with Crash and Jaws? I've been away a while and missed some of your stories I think. =( I'm sorry to hear Fang had cancer!

Yup Fang is still in with Crash and Jaws Had Fang at the vets over the weekend, the vet is confident that the noise is in his nose, not his lungs, and has given him an anti-inflammatory injection and a week of anti-biotics. He says it's likely an infection that may have been brought on by stress, possibly the surgery and it's a possibility that excessive red nose has scarred his wee nose tissue. Back to see him on Saturday so we'll see how that goes. Scent gland wise he's been absolutely great since his surgery, he's a tough wee man
