My new double tank arrived last week, but it was really gross and dirty. The previous occupants were snakes, then the tanks had been left outside for a few months, so both tanks needed a really good scrub and deep clean. It was totally worth the several hours of cleaning and scrubbing and extremely sore fingers though! It looks fantastic, and the girls are loving having all the space! They used to live in separate tanks, that were really really tiny, so when I adopted them my first priority was to split tank and get them back together, then to get them the biggest space I could fit in my living room. The top tank is their everyday living tank, which is 4 times longer than the tanks they used to have. It's also the first time that they've had enough bedding to make tunnels - so they spend a lot of time running back and forth then disappearing in a spray of carefresh! The bottom tank is their play tank, so they can go in there every other day as it gives them space to run up and down, run on the wheel and (once a week) use the sandbath. (Ghost worked it out straight away, but Shadow has taken to sliding in and rubbing her belly in it, before eating some.) They also will go in when it's time to clean out the top tank! I tried to get some photos of them, but it was quite difficult as they'd just discovered digging! Ghost is quite happy to sit and be photographed, but Shadow is still very wary of anything, so she just disappeared completely!

Awesome set up,
Would be so cool if you could just connect those tanks somehow..

I know - I'd love to, but these girls just don't do tubes! Nothing is safe from their chewing and insatiable desire to escape and be free-range gerbils! I wouldn't know how to connect them anyway - the tanks are glass on all sides, and I wouldn't be confident trying to make a hole in them!

They look fantastic Is there no way you would give them a sand box permanently? Mine have one and are litter trained with it xx
