I don't know what's wrong with them today, I didn't see them yesterday as in didn't go in the room but they had food leftover(I've been giving a lot of it to them when they can see me there). I took them out a couple of hours ago and let them on the floor but they didn't seem very interested in being out or like something was wrong. Then after I've put them back in the cage they looked at me like they didn't know what to do, I offered them food and it wasn't that, they have water and I gave them a piece of cardboard and some hay.
They haven't been like that for ages...not interested in cardboard or anything I put in there and are sitting on the middle cage level all still. They usually go back to digging and stuff when they go back in so what's wrong? Didn't give them cardboard yesterday - maybe that got them bored?

Don't know where you live, but it was really stuffy hot today and some of my bigger gerbils weren't doing much either to be honest - and they were sleeping up on a shelf rather than their bed.
If you are worried, maybe weigh them if you have scales, so if they don't perk back up in a day or two at least you will know if they have lost any weight.

They might be bored, I don't think its just the hot weather, what else can I give them or do to stop them being bored? Cardboard and hay doesn't seem to be enough - they have wood chew things as well, a small house they sleep in and chew sometimes. They had a tunnel but I think they've chewed it to pieces by now, they don't use the wheel...what else could I do? How can I tell if they want a bigger tank? Can anyone suggest anything?
