My gerbil had a cage mate that passed away in april and I can't get him a new cagemate. my parents are devorced and I switch houses every 4 days but my gerbil can only stay at my moms house but he is fed and watered and healthy. So he isn't used to attention but enjoys it when he gets it. Because of the attention level he gets I feel rally bad for him but he doesn't have any depression symptoms. I don't know whether I should sell him to a better home or if he is fine the way it is but I would like to avoid selling him. So is the attention that he is getting good enough or do I need to try something new. Thx for your opinion.

Just give him as much attention as you reasonably can. Especially if he's 2 yrs old or more, it would probably be more stress than benefit to him going to another home.
PS- Think of it this way: He's still probably much better off with you than he would be in a pet store. So continue to take care of him and give him attention as you can, and let whoever you might have sold him to adopt some poor gerbil from a store instead. Hope that helps!
