What cage are you using?? Did you wash it out before putting in the hamster?? Where in you home are you keeping the cage? Sorry about your hamster, but wow...that's crazy!

In the dining room, from now on all my animal friends will be in my room. ( I just got two new baby hamsters, got them their own cage). And note that my gerbil still alive is in a different cage then the others... Anyway, finally found a vet that will take care of these animals.

I'm sorry to hear this, and it must be awful for you to have had this happen; but looking for the reason can be a tricky one as you have so many variables.
However, if you are assuming that it is 'your cage' then it can only really be a type of toxin that would be able to kill a hamster in just one day and a gerbil over a short period of time, (I don't think most bacteria/infections etc would act so fast). This toxin can either be ingested in food, wood/plastic or your cleaning fluid (if not pet-safe) etc or inhaled like a gas, air freshener, perfume etc. Depending on the location of your other cage this could be worse in one and slightly protected in the other. Direct sunlight can also be a factor.
But if you think they could have been ill from the pets store (or wherever they were before then) then it could be any number of things - and possibly even totally unrelated to each other. Just really bad luck.
And I hope your new dwarf hammies will be happy in their new home though...

One of the two hamsters died, father is going to complain to the pet store. Only had that hamster for a couple hours, brought it to Uncle's house to show him (he has owned them all his life), and she died.

Holy crow!! That's quite a few animals in such a short time period! What brand of food are you using?? And you didn't mention the type of cage they were in...I'm quite concerned there is something in the cage that isn't good for them. What type of bedding are they on??

okay, so the manager at the petsmart right by us said that the store at boilingbrook gets their animals from a different company than most stores do, and that when they got hamsters from apet once they died too. He said that the Boilingbrook get their animals from apet, while this store gets them from Wilson. (I bought all of mine from the Boilingbrook one) Oh, and I have been getting the Kathy cages for them, and the normal food they eat.
