One of my two week old pups is light grey with what appears to be a white belly. They're still really small, so it's hard to get a good picture. It's basically dove grey. Obviously not white, but very light in color. The mom is black with one white toe, and dad is spotted black, if that helps at all.
I know that time will tell, but I am feeling impatient lol, and I was hoping that someone here might hazard a guess.

I looked around online, and the baby in question definitely appears to be lighter than grey agouti of the same age. And the hairs don't have the banded appearance of agouti. It is not a warm tone like a nutmeg, it's really dove grey with no tan overtones at all.
Upon further googling, the description and pictures of dove looks spot on. The baby first appeared white, the grey is developing as it grows. And I can't tell now whether the belly looks lighter. Is dove possible though? I thought that was quite unusual in the US. Not that it's impossible to have an unusual color pop up in a random litter, but it would be unlikely.

It would help us to know what color any other relatives are if you know them as the gene for Dove itself is quite specific. If you have Siamese or Dark-Tailed White gerbils around then you can easily get Dove. If it is spotted than it could be even paler than usual as well.
If you could attach a picture or two that would be great (look up how to do on the forum). And ask your breeders what the parents were of your original two gerbs if you kept in contact. It all helps build up a better picture of the genes you have to play with.
Your pair obviously both 'carry' the gene for pink eyes (as they have black eyes themselves) but there is more to find out about any colourpoint or PEW-looking relatives. Or just a good few pictures of the little soldier could confirm their presence.

Dove is quite common, in the US and elsewhere. It could also be a Sp. Sapphire or even Sp. Lilac, since spotting lightens the base color, and will give you a white belly.

I have one picture but it's quite blurry. I'll try to get more later today.
Unfortunately, these were all pet store gerbils so I don't know the lineage. All of the other gerbils in the tank (presumably from the same breeder) were either black or spotted black or mottled black.

I just took several more pictures, I'm trying to figure out how to get them from my phone into the forum. In the pictures she looks a bit warmer, in person there is no warmth to her color at all. She has dark (wine?) red eyes as revealed by flash. No white belly or spots that I can find.
