I have 2 gerbils. They had 3 babies
Mom. Is completely black from head to tail back stomach everything. And black eyes
Dad. Is completely white. Head to tail back stomach. Everything. And eyes are red
What color are the babies? They are 8 days old and they are a gentle black color. For 2 of them. And the 3rd is a slightly paler dark gray color. They all look to have black eye lid's so does this mean they are all black Eyed.
Few questions.
When do I wean them from parents
I sexed them all as boys. Cuz there's no nipples on the body. I can sex newborn hamsters. So I'm assuming I can see nipple dots if my eyes are good?
After weaning. How long. Do they stay as a group before I split them up. Assuming if i got the sexes wrong at this stage I read later on they are much easier to sex when they mature a bit

Do you have any pictures? It is so much easier to see them than have them described.
It's possible your dad is a Pink-Eyed White (which are infact colourpoints (cp)) and your mom most likely is Black (or Slate which look a slightly dull black but would be described as black just as easily).
Without pictures of the pups it would be very hard to be precise, but most likely your 'gentle blacks' could be blacks or slates and the 'paler dark grey' could be several things including (if fur is ticked) a grey agouti, a cp grey agouti, or a cp golden agouti. It all depends on how pale and how dark grey you mean?
As for taking from parents - you would be best to leave the pups with mum until at least 6 weeks - unless you are letting her have a second litter and/or the dad is still around and you are keeping one for him to live with? That would be the only reason I would split up a trio of brothers - is that why you asked?
And yes, it is SO easy to sex boys as they develop...
