My girls have had the same wheel since I got them, and it never once bugged me before, but I feel like the wheel is slightly too small for them. What size wheel do you all recommend? I think the one I have is, I THINK about 5 inches? It's the blue silent spinner if that means anything, I'm pretty sure each size is a different color.

Well, you're wanting to get a wheel that doesn't arch their back so I would really recommenced an 8 inch or so just so there's no problems for them what so ever. A comfort wheel is a good size, there are some things you can do to make it quieter so if you're considering it then I can tell you what to do or link you to the site with the quick fix. Hope this helps.
* Although the Comfort wheel is plastic I wouldn't get it if you know your Gerbils would chew it. If they would then I would just try your best to look around for a 8 inch mesh wheel for them. Just to be on the safe side of things. *

Silent spinner colors are random, you possibly have the mini 4.5-inch one but hopefully you have the regular 6.5-inch one, as it's a little less awful... but definitely upgrade. You need a wheel of at least 7.5-inches for most females, but bigger is better. I personally recommend 8.5-inch wheels for adult gerbils, but some people recommend a minimum of up to 10-inch wheels. I use the 8.5-inch run-around wheels from Super Pet, which are metal mesh wheels. They're really cheap and you can get them at almost any pet store or online pet supplier. I put a bit of vaseline on the parts where the wheel connects to the stand, because it stops the squeaking.

I mistakenly ordered a 12 inch silent spinner wheel. It was way too big for the gerbils and their aquarium. It was even too tall for their plastic playpen. I was trying to upgrade from a tiny wheel. I have now ordered a 6.5 inch one, which will hopefully be an improvement which fits. I wish I had found and ordered an 8 inch one. Where can I get that size? What brand?
Thanks.

Unfortunately, Silent Spinner doesn't make an 8 inch wheel - just 3.5, 6.5, and 12. The 6.5 inch is OK for adult female gerbils - my girls do enjoy running in theirs. The 6.5 inch is probably too small for adult males, who may just use it as a toilet.

I found an 8 inch wheel on the internet. It seems to be a perfect fit. They are using it way more than the 6.5 one. The dominant gerbil tends to hog everything, but the 8 inch wheel is so great that the submissive gerbil is managing to get plenty of turns!
