So I have what I was told a male gerbil. Upon closer inspection I think it is female. BUT! I can see no nipples present and she/he has a large scent gland, which I thought was predominantly a male trait? Help needed asap as I wanted to introduce another same sex mate!

Looks female. A large scent gland is often a male trait, but females can have it too. And the nipples aren't visible due to the fur covering them.

I'm not an expert, but as far as I can tell it's a female.
