I have been given anti-inflammatory tablets for my girls swollen lips and nose. They said give her a quarter of the tablet (tiny piece) with some soft food. Problem is my gerb is fussy, any ideas on food?

You could try peanut butter, I'v heard that's popular. Or maybe a bit of fruit, like apple or grape?

Peanut butter is a good idea you can crush the tablet up into it.

She refuses too take it. I tried watered bread, no luck, I tried flavoured popcorn (from pet store) still no luck. She just spits it straight back out.

Here's a few ideas: Applesauce, plain (not flavored) yogurt, baby food, plain scrambled egg, oats mixed soaked in milk. Hope you find something that works!

Can you crush the pill into a powder and mix it with something delicious? You have to use a small quantity (no bigger than a pea) to ensure that the gerbil eats all of it in one sitting. I've used vanilla ice cream or strawberry yogurt to smuggle meds into my gerbils. The other treats mentioned should work well too. (Note: Tetracycline should not be mixed with dairy products because the calcium interferes with its absorption.)
