i have some sand bath questions 1 can i use play sand 2 can it be in the cage all the time or only at certain times like chinchillas 3 can it be any dish or just the enclosed ones

1: Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm guessing not. I think chinchilla sand would be best. 2: It can be in the cage permanently if you like, or if you'd rather just give it to them sometimes that works too. 3: Any dish- only benefit to a closed one that I can think of is that they won't kick it out as much.

1. Some people say if you sterilize play sand (heres a link... www.youtube.com/watch?v=pI1cIl-la3s&list=UUddFoRiLsJ0UjaUdCslN_Bg ) and sieve it with a very fine sieve it will be okay. But others say it can be quite sharp for a gerbils delicate skin? 2. I keep mine in permanently as the girls use it as a litter tray as well, but you can have it just for play time or put it in every couple of days if you want (like crittercrazy said) 3. Yep, any dish is fine lasagna dishes or a circle vase like this one... Are good but any is fine

childs play sand should already be sanitised, check the packaging. Personally I get mine from argos and dont bake it
