So i just purchased some Mr. Johnsons muesli and pellets and wondered if the two mixed together would make a good diet?
Muesli Analytical Constituents: Crude Protein: 18% Crude Fiber: 4.5% Crude Oils&Fats: 5.5% Crude Ash: 3%
Pellets Analytical Constituents: Crude Protein: 19% Crude Fiber: 5% Crude Oils&Fats: 5% Crude Ash: 5.5%
Muesli Ingredients: Concentrate nuts (wheatfeed, extracted sunflower, straw, sugar beet, calcium carbonate, molasses, grassmeal, sodium chloride, vegetable oil, vitamin & trace element premix), kibbled maize, flaked maize, flaked peas, flaked beans, whole wheat, wheat extrusions*, sunflower seeds, locust bean extrusions, flaked naked oats, dried carrot, dried banana, peanuts, Verm-X herb blend, Soya oil.
Pellet Ingredients: Wheat, Wheatfeed, Soya Bean Meal, Oats, Sunflower Seed Meal, Linseed, Calcium Carbonate, Vegetable Oil & Fat, Mono Calcium phosphate,Bio Moss ®, Sodium Chloride, Verm-X ® Herb Blend.

Hi gerbillover9613. Save both the fat and protein of those feeds look high to me. Based on what I have read these are values more appropriate for infants and reproducing mothers. Perhaps there is something else you could mix in with lower fat and protein levels to lower the overall ratio, however I am not expert enough to know what that is.

sinthiav is correct. You'll need something quite low in protein to balance out those high numbers. I like to use puffed rice and other puffed cereals. See what you have available where you live. You have to find something really very low in protein so the average amount between the things you're feeding works out to something more like 12-13% protein. You can get away with a bit higher than that when they're still youngish but by the time they're getting up there in age you really need to lower the protein to avoid kidney problems.

Ahhh okayy. Could i add puffed rice, cheerios, oats and shreddies into it? would that make the protein and fat more suitable? thankyou for the information
