I have my gerbils in a 20 gallon aquarium and there water bottle is held in one of those metal chew guard holders. Since they run like crazy this causes the tank to shake, thus the bottle shakes and hits up against the glass. At first I just propped a TP tube behind it but they either pull it out to chew or run so fast it just doesn't help. Anyone else have this issue and have found a solution? I was thinking of using velcro so its stuck to the side (high enough so they can't reach it or chew it) but I'm worried it'll still shake.

Is the cage base uneven that it's causing it to shake? I've had this problem before but it always seems to be more that something got under the cage or it was sitting on an uneven surface, the cage really shouldn't be shaking but maybe this is just a weird situation...

Well that seemed to be the issue! I knew the side table the tank was on was a bit wobbly but the tank is so heavy and they are so small I didn't think it would matter, but as soon as I slipped an envelope under the leg and no more shaking!
