My gerbil yesterday morning wouldn't move at all, eyes were closed shut, and his breathing was really shallow... I truely thought he was going to die. So surprising because the day before he was completely fine and very active. I took him out so I could warm him up since he was very cold, and he flipped on his back... he has slowly gotten a bit better but is very wobbly and shakey, and has had a bit of blood in his urine.. he will eat and drink now but not as much as normal and is very tired.. I have no idea what could be wrong ?
Update: I noticed his left cheek looks larger than the other, maybe swollen because it doesn't feel as boney compared to the other?

Blood in urine along with the other symptoms you mention suggests a bad urinary tract infection. He needs to be seen by a vet and given antibiotics ASAP. In the meantime, keep him warm and offer water from an eyedropper. Hopefully he will pull through.

He was doing better, and now I came home from school and he's back to being very ill again he keeps wobbling back and forth, and he will eat and then stop everything and doze off and this keeps happening over and over again .. There's no more blood in the urine at all today. What are home remedies that can help him feel better and stronger?!

Unfortunately, he really needs to be seen by a vet. There's really no way for someone to diagnose and treat what's wrong without seeing him, but it really sounds like an infection, though. The only thing you can do until he sees a vet is make sure he's getting water and energy while keeping him warm. A warm water bottle placed next to the tank will help keep him warm. Make sure he has easy access to his food and water. If he's not eating/drinking, try offering yogurt, applesauce, or scrambled egg. These foods will provide energy and moisture.
