Couple of weeks ago one pf my boys got a cut on his scent gland. I kept an eye on it and couldnt feel any lumps. It scabbed over but the problem is he is keeping on playing with it and maling it bleed again. Hes just not leaving it alone.
Any ideas what i should do. If there is any way i can get him to stop touching it? I wanted to take him to vets to get it checked just incase as they are 3 now but OH suggested i dont and it will b fine... Thanks in advance xx

manuka honey may help, not sure what else you could try so he won't bother it. maybe bitter apple spray you can buy at the pet store-just sure if that is safe to use on a gerbil so check that out, first. Try to give him lots to chew and keep him occupied.

To be honest I would take him to the vet to be on the safe side, it shouldn't cost much for a check. Older males ar particularly prone to SG tumours. Good luck.
