I recently bought a dried mix that contains dandelion, lemon balm, and plantain. It was originally intended for my guinea pigs but they don't seem too keen on it so I'm wondering if it's safe for my gerbils to eat? Thanks!

In small amounts yes. Mine LOVE plantain and have had dried dandelion no doubt many times as it finds its way into most hay meadows. Dandelions do contain a diuretic (increases urine production) which gerbils aren't designed for, so many people say steer clear.
I have never given lemon balm that I have known of, so would have to look that one up before saying defo yes.

Thanks! I would definitely not give them it every day, maybe a small amount sprinkled around for them to forage once a week. I have googled this already, the reason why I was asking is because I can't find any information anywhere that mentions whether gerbils can eat these things or not. There were quite a few places that said dandelion is safe, but nowhere seemed to say anything about plantain or lemon balm so I thought I'd just ask about all three of them.

Now I'll have to try giving my gerbils plantain chips! I don't like them, but maybe they will.

I meant the plant plantain, I haven't looked up the banana plantain.
Will do now though...
