This may sound stupid but I'm pretty sure my female is excited to breed. I just brought home my male and she keeps trying to lick his nose (he does the same)
Do you guys think she may be in heat? Or maybe the nose sniffing/licking is a sign of a pending fight? And by the way, I'm doing it split cage (using mesh). My male is two months old or so. His name is loras tyrell. And my female Sansa just turned a year.

Is your female still nice and slim? A year is about the age that females can plump out and not be very fertile anymore (unless she has had litters before).
At 8 weeks, it is unlikely that your male can our would be inclined to perform the deed. They usually don't show interest in that until 3 months plus.
Other than that, those signs of affection are a good start to your split.

Thanks! Also yes. She's still a small girl. If I could show a picture I would. Update also. Last night (somehow, I still can't figure it out) my girl managed to get into my boys part of the cage. No fighting occurred, seeing as I couldn't see blood and they were cuddled up together. So no fighting over at least an eight hour period? Could it be love at first sight! Lol
