As I mentioned, Brad, my formerly dominant gerbil, seems smaller and skinnier. I'm not sure if he's actually gotten smaller or Nick has grown, but I am following their weights closely now.
Here is my question - I tried giving Brad some oxbow, softened with water, and he loved it. So, I'm supplementing his regular food with that. Is there anything wrong with feeding a gerbil soggy, yet fresh, oxbow?
Meanwhile, I'm trying to get a picture of his teeth to post to see if others think they look overgrown.
Thanks.

Soggy oxbow is fine so long as it has not been wet for very long or else bacteria would likely grow on it. My vet recommended I feed it soggy when he was missing his teeth but he was not interested.

I only wet a few pieces and threw out the ones he didn't eat right away. Thanks

Yeah, wetting down extruded food with warm water is fine and is actually a really good way to release nutrients into the body, the perfect solution to a poorly gerbil.
Obviously, as said above, don't leave for too long, but if you are only wetting a tiny amount, that should be fine.
