Our babies are now 4 weeks old & any boys we have will move in with their dad (Sparky) in the next week or so. So, thinking ahead to if/when Gizzy has her second litter, we want to put a boy or two with our 6 month old lone male (Yogi) who we adopted from the rescue centre at PAH.
This will be our 1st attempt at a split tank & I'm not sure what size mesh we should use to make the divider? I've seen 0.6mm & 1.3mm but don't know which would be best?
Also, is Yogi likely to accept 2 youngsters - he'll be 8-9 months old by the time any boys from the next litter are 8 weeks old?

Either size mesh is fine. We always use 1.3mm for our splits, which allows for nose-touching.
You should hopefully have quite an easy time with an introduction, since the pups will be so young. When we introduced two 6-week old pups to our adult gerbil, who had been on her own for over a year, it took less than a week. Males are supposed to be easier, so it's unlikely that there will be any problems.

Thanks for that. We'll go for the 1.3cm
