Congrats on the second litter. Eight is a fair amount to have. Kahla (my girl) had 9 her first litter and eight in the second.

Stella is doing an excellent job, she moved the litter from her nest under the water bottle sometime today, to the corner of the tank near the window. Now I can take advantage of good lighting for a photo Also good, because when I fed her this morning I noticed the gobs of tp under the bottle was damp and wicking everywhere. I removed most of the tp nesting without disturbing the babies, gave her fresh tp and moved the bottle. I am glad she used the fresh tp to make a new dry nest somewhere else. My 5 year old daughter is so fascinated with these gerbils. When we talked about getting gerbils and I found the gerbil family of 9 for sale on craigslist, it was a crazy new venture; but I am glad we did it this way instead of the pet store. My kids are loving the life cycle experience!

Yesterday, 2 girls and 2 boys from the first litter went to new homes (separate ly . I printed an ags brochure and another 2 pages of info I compiled and gave them each copies. And after talking with them, I feel confident they are going to caring homes. That leaves us 3 boys with dad. I am working on a home for two of them.

Aww, it must have been really hard to see them go. I'm so glad our litters were small enough to allow us to keep them. Do you have any homes lined up for the new pups yet?

I don't have homes lined up for the new pups yet. It was hardest to let my favorite boy go, the gray one. I have 3 pups left from the first litter, and someone is supposed to come this afternoon for two. That will leave the dad, Simon and one argente boy. We need to name the boy since that is who we are ending up with! My kids had named the gray one Wesley, and we were going to keep him. I am happy and relieved I have found homes for the pups, not sad. I may be more attached to the second litter though, since we have seen them since birth. There are only 6 right now, one didn't survive, it wasn't able to move its hind legs, and one is missing right now! We will dig around for it more later.

So, we found the missing pup. She had also died there are 6 remaining, and they seem to be in good health. I think there are 2 shades of gray, maybe the darker one will be lilac? They had one light gray, dove I believe, in the first litter.
