Hiya,
This may make me seem like a real newbie and a clueless future gerbil owner but I was looking through the colours and genetics forum and saw some colours described as LCP, and I don't know what it means!

LCP means Light Colour Point.

It is used to describe a gerbil colour that has both the chm and ch colourpoint genes, making it lighter than its normal colourpoint equivalent.
For example a Burmese is actually a colourpoint Black, but Siamese is a light colourpoint Black.
Burmese = chm chm Siamese = chm ch

So the light refers to the body colour???

Yes. I just means it appears lighter than the normal cp colour due to the extra diluting effect of the ch gene.
