So, awhile ago I noticed a pink bump under Doc's left ear. Not too long after that, he scratched it open and pus came out, the bump went away, but a week or so later, it filled back up. It didn't seem to be bothering him this time too much. But just now I noticed that he scratched it open again, and this time, he was bleeding from it. It's a pretty deep wound, but I cleaned up the blood, and I heard I should put some Manuka honey or saline and boiled water on it. I will try and get those things. Does anyone know what it could be, the only person who can take me to the vet is really hesitant, be cause we're tight on money right now, so I'm really hoping its not a cyst or tumor, but it keeps coming back, so I'm thinking that's the problem....

My past gerb, Yuki, had the same thing, a little bump under the ear. he scratched at it so much he would make it bleed constantly, i took him to the vet and found out he had debris impacted in his ear, they have me some medicated ear drops and it seemed to help the bump go down also, so i figure it came around because he was scratching his ear so much. do you notice if Doc has a tilted head? That is how I found out Yuki had an ear problem, although if Doc is a pink/red eyed i see my new trio doing a head tilt when they focus on something. if Doc is, a good way to tell the difference is if he tilts all the time, or just standing up and starring.

A tilting head was one of the first things I checked for when I first found the bump, but Doc doesn't tilt his head at all. He isn't a red eyed either....
