Yep, that size tank with that topper is fine for 2 gerbils. I hope they enjoy it...

10 gallon is not a good size for two gerbils. it needs to be at least 20 gallons or the gerbils will be cramped. good luck with the new gerbils.

You are right - a 10 gallon tank on its own for 2 gerbils would be rather on the snug side - but with an equally large topper attached - it should be enough space for them to enjoy themselves...

I have this topper, purchased used. I have read that people setting it up brand new have some frustrations and it requires some modifications. Nothing pliers, twisty ties, etc can't help. I have this on a much taller tank so, to prevent falls/save their little feet, I covered the bottom of the topper completely with cardboard(leaving only a hole for them to go down the stairs). It's working out quite well so far. If you're handy/have the time, you might want to consider making your own topper, though. This one isn't the highest quality for the price of it new, imo.

By the sounds of that I might end up going with another topper from martinscages, since I have had good experience with their cages. For 35 dollars and fast shipping though, the other topper just seemed like a good deal. Thanks for the advice, Ill probably go with martinscages ^^

I'm actually pretty happy with it(as are the gerbils) but yeah.. I paid $15 for it and a hamster cage(new travel cage for my boys).
I've also had a good experience with Martin Cages; a rat cage I had as a teen was made by them.

is the topper plastic? i know that most most are metal but something that cheap might be plastic.

No that specific topper is all metal, I checked before considering it.

I have that topper and I really like it. It fits very snug to the tank which might be why some people have had problems with it. Personally, I like the way it fits. There are metal clasps on each corner that hold tightly onto the rim of the tank. There are also metal hooks on the sides that stretch down and grasp the plastic rim. This all makes it impossible for gerbils to escape. It's really sturdy and well made. I've probably had it almost two years and no complaints so far. I did add some extra shelves and cover the mesh flooring with wooden bendy bridges. Otherwise haven't had to do any modifications.
Obviously one from Martin's would be nicer, but it'd cost you. Either way, a 10 gallon and topper make a great home for 2 gerbils.

The positives of this topper do seem like it would be a good option, but I am just a tad worried if I get a bad one (other reviews said it had bent wires, sharp edges, ect..). Though its only 35 dollars, so it wouldnt be too bad of a loss if I got a bad cage, I'd just try to either return it, or get rid of it and go with the martins cage. I might just end up going with it. Free 2 day shipping sounds pretty good..
