Okay so I had a gerbil that was separated from the others as I planned on splitting it with another lonely one but that didn't work out. So it did start biting. I done the glove (sock since I don't have gloves) and it worked. It did stop the biting.
I took the sock off and now it can stand without biting me. But, I'm scared to put my hand in. I can't get over the fact it used to bite. How do I overcome it?

Bribery and treats, when you hold them, treat if they don't bite, nothing it they do bite

If you're scared to put your hand in, maybe still use the sock/glove until you feel more confident to put your hand back in. Once you notice that your gerbil doesn't bite anymore, you will probably feel safer to put your hand in.
