Hey, just wondering if gerbils are ok near a tv? I read somewhere they can be stressful for them? Thanks

I have a couple tanks close to my tv and a couple tanks beside the speakers and my gerbils are not stressed by them.

Mine have never seemed bothered by it at all, but they are not very close to the tv.

Our sit close to the TV, usually the other way round where they disturb us watching tv with noisy carry on.

I have my gerbils house across the room from a TV. If they're out and not particularly paying attention, then a sudden movement or change of brightness on the TV can send them scurrying, otherwise they don't notice it exists.
They're seemingly not very bothered about the TV sound either, considering I have speakers mounted high above where they are. But then I don't exactly blast out the sound.

We had one gerbil tank about 6 feet from the side of the TV, which was slightly turned in that direction. Because we had our tanks in an L-shape, the others were a little farther away.
We did NOT blast the TV (or play music at a loud volume), but we did have it on a total of several hours a day. They did not seem to be bothered by it; in fact, they sometimes seemed restless if we kept it off for a long time, as we watch things at routine times, e.g. the morning news, and I think they may have interpreted it as normal activity.
The key is low volume; they really do hear exceedingly well.
