Honestly, maybe they have too much food available and are not hungry if they don't like any.
Mine like Carrots, broccoli, peas, cheese, sunflower seeds, raisins, oats, peanuts (all small amounts)

None of my gerbils liked things such as small pet chocolates to start with, but 2 of them, once they finally decided to gie them a try, fell in love with them and the other 3 will happily take them and nibble them a bit. You can also get flavoured popcorn from some pet stores (I have cherry flavoured for mine) and banana chips, almonds, sunflower seeds and various other seeds and nuts usually go down a storm.

What kind of things are not okay for gerbils at all? Things with sugar in such as human cakes, chocolate and biscuits (but I do let me have tiny pieces occasionally). Also too much fruit and vegetables can give them a bad stomach so only give small pieces and only as a treat. I'd say specific gerbil treats like "gerbil chocolates" are pretty unnecessary seeing as they can enjoy things like peas so much

I second the mealworms suggestion, but vote for live instead! Mine go ga-ga for them!

Apple in the nighttime is harmful for humans. Generally, is apple safe for Gerbils and can they eat apple in the night? I feed my gerbils a rough 1 centimeter stick of apple slice (very thin) almost every night. Will this cause any diarrhea or other issues? Thank you very much.

I personally haven't heard of apples being bad for someone to eat at night. However, I would refrain from feeding them apple every night. While it is a healthy treat, apples are a sugary fruit. Maybe offer some small (sultana/raisin-sized) bits of leafy greens for your gerbil to eat in rotation?

Thanks for the advice! I dont feed them apple everyday, just once in 4 to 3 days. I'll try feeding them sultana!
