Does anyone have suggestions for a playpen I can get online for my girls to run around in a bit? I've had the critter trail one for hamsters etc before and they could easily jump out of it which defeated the purpose (and made me very stressed out!) So it would need to be one that they can't scale easily.
Maisy needs to lose some weight. We've been cutting out treats for about a month now and even with two wheels she isn't dropping it. I'm looking to try something else to make her run around a bit more.
Thanks!

Do you have a bath tub that you could use for this?

I use a 3ft second hand Vivarium for mine - I cram loads of things in there that I can't fit in their tanks and they have a great time in there...
Nice and safe.

Do you have a bath tub that you could use for this? Good idea!! I'm gonna try that. Just remember to put a towel on the bottom first, that way it will be nicer for the gerbils to walk on it. And also prevents from them to be able to lick stuff, if there happens to be anything at the bottom that you didn't notice. (Like tiny shampoo drops or something...)

I use tri-fold poster boards taped together (horizontal tape strips on the inside) and then stick on velcro for the space I want to be able to open. It's a great height and can be folded up to an extent (it folds into a triangle shape, still standing up though). I do worry they may be able to push under if they try hard enough though, so they are always closely supervised. They've never successfully gotten out, the closest they come is when I'm sitting in there with them and they climb onto my shoulder and try to launch themselves over the top. Crazy rodents.

I also use trifold posters and it works good and is a cheap option. You can also make it as big or small as you want by just adding more posters.

For sugar gliders we use pop up tents. I wonder if it would work for gerbils. They just fold down to a circle or other small, flat shape and then pop into full shape when you release them. Some people were using cheap children's pop up tents or the lower end genji models bought off amazon. I use sansbug tents. They open to more of an oval shape so they fit in narrower spaces better and they are nearly 100% mesh so you can see through them. They are more expensive though.
