Well I'm hopeing my Dazy is pregnant I wish to prepare her for nursing I wondered if a high protein diet would be right for her since I figure for the pup's to have plenty of milk and not drain the life out of my Dazy. I once had a female cat who had a litter of 5 kitten's and at some point she got really weak her pink nose turned pale didn't want to walk or much less move. So I started feeding her mac and cheez and in a day or so she seemed a whole lot better.

You're right, gerbils do need protein for nursing. Mealworms and boiled eggs provide this well. Live mealworms are an especially sought-after treat!
Sorry, I don't know much about breeding, having never bred before. I hope all goes well for you and Dazy.
