Winter is coming and for me, I get extremely dry skin that cracks and bleeds and isnt that fun. I recently pulled out my old humidifier, which helps with my skin. But, will the gerbils be okay with it? It wont bother them correct? I just want to be sure, I dont want to risk anything.

I don't know for sure but thought I would at least suggest some things for you.
Some people report that gerbils are affected by noises that we can't really hear as humans - so I would make sure that the device is as far away from them as you feel best and that the air it is drawing in or blowing out isn't in the direct same line as your gerbils.
I would also suggest that you don't have it on all the time - just incase it is quite annoying for them and they need a break every so often? So perhaps turn it off when the weather doesn't seem as damp.
I would also - if you want to be sure you don't miss anything - keep a note of any odd behaviours (things they haven't done before) if you see them as well as keeping an eye on their drinking and eating levels.
I don't think this would be an issue if not right next to them and quite a nice sized room, but it will be interesting to find out from your experience so we can share it as noone else seems to know a lot about this either (or just haven't commented yet). It may be that the drier air actually suits them?

I have had the humidifier working for a few days now. Normally I only keep it on at night to avoid causing trouble for the gerbils.
They dont seem to be having issues with it, it feels as if they are all breathing normally and actig the way they normally do.
So far I think it will be okay.

How is this going asher? I just wonder after several weeks now you would have noticed anything extreme - or have you noticed no change at all in them in all this time?
Thanks for sharing.

It looks like no change. All breathing seems fine too, so it looks like humidifiers are okay in moderation, but I still wouldn't try putting it on a higher setting just in case

That's good to know. I didn't need one before, but might need a dehumidifier in my new property, so great to know I don't need to worry about using it now and then around the gerbils.
Thanks.
