There are 2 adult brothers in separate tanks up for adoption in our local PAH. They have no idea how old they are & they've been there since early November There were 4 handed in by the same person & staff split them into 2 pairs. Then these 2 were separated as 'they didn't seem to be getting on'. The assistant I spoke to said she was really annoyed when she found they'd been split up. She was told there was no fighting but there was some posturing & a bit of chasing so they were split up straight away rather than being given a couple of hours supervision while they tried to figure out their new dynamic as a pair rather than a foursome. The softy in me wants to adopt them & try to split them back together. But I don't have much space left for tanks & if the split doesn't work I'd struggle for room for 2 extra tanks rather than just the one I need if they go together. So, I'd be grateful for any opinions on the likelihood of getting these 2 boys back together given their history. And in future I need to walk around the outside of the store when I go in for supplies instead of taking the straightforward route that takes you right through the adoption centre!

i'd consider a large split tank with a semi-permanent divider, so if it doesn't work out, you can leave the divider in so they can still be near each other - and if it does work, you can just pop the divider out (and back in if there are future signs of fighting) and be confident that it's secure.
