After using Gerri Gerbil food for a while I wanted to ask everyone's opinion on the Pumpkin seeds included. Does everyone fish them out and keep them as treats or do you leave them in and let them eat it with them food?
Just curious on answers

We leave them in, though may remove some and put them bag in the bag if there is an unusually large amount in the one portion of food. We usually keep the some in our hand at feeding time and feed them directly to the gerbils, so it's sort of like a treat. Some of our girls have actually ignored pumpkin seeds lying right in front of them and instead sit there expectantly waiting to be handfed one. Our gerbils are little divas!

Hehe, I just wanted opinions on what people do as, like you said, there is a massive collection in one portion and I just wanted to know what people do so thank you for your opinion!

Yes, all my gerbils love the pumpkin seeds in Gerri and if more than 2 fall out for one gerbil, I pick them back up to make sure my other gerbils have a chance to eat one too.
I now buy pumpkin seeds separately for them as I have too many gerbils now for them all the get their fair share from just the food. I don't always get Gerri these days either (fed up with all the leftover kernels at the bottom).

I've been trying to buy separately but cannot find a place near me that sells them so Gerri is the only option unfortunately but I'm not just buying the food just to get the seeds I cant afford that every time.
Blitzen loves the pumpkin seeds and so did Cupid when she was alive but I've been wanting to get more of them as a regular treat for Blitzen to make her feel comfortable etc. after the loss of Cupid but nevermind I guess.
Thanks for the help tho betty, much appreciated.

You can buy pumpkin seeds from supermarkets. I don't remember what aisle it is, but I think in some sort of "healthy-ish snack" area. The bags aren't too big, but will last for quite a while. (Holland & Barrett, and other health food shops do them as well, probably pound shops as well but in smaller bags.)
I quite often hand feed the pumpkin seeds from Gerri Gerbil as my boys are greedy and I don't really trust that they will let each other have at least one. (If I have more than one on my hand, they will take as many as they possibly can.)

The only ones I could find that didn't say they were roasted or salted were in a local health food store, but as they were for humans they had been shucked already - less fun watching the gerbils run off with them to open, but same tasty food.
This year though, I grew my OWN pumpkins and saved all the seeds! I now have 2 giant containers of fully-shelled pumpkin seeds - although they don't look as white or a shiny as the ones in Gerri - but they still love them...
It was hard work collecting them though - but about now is the time you need to start sowing your pumpkin seeds if you want a crop of your own in the winter.
