I've had my gerbils for about 3 months now. It wasn't their originally but as he's grown up my agouti gerbil has developed this sort of arrow shape across his back. I was wondering if this is common or not ? Is it to do with molting ? Thanks in advance. ![]()  |

Hi, yes it's basically moulting. You'll find the pattern will move along his body as he moults... It's really obvious on these coloured gerbils (with a different coloured "undercoat" - sorry not the technical term!) . In a while hell be all one colour again.

Yup it's a moulting line as woketteuk said, and it is most noticeable in colours such as Agouti and Nutmeg ^^
