Hi so I feel my gerbils are getting a bit bored of the pets at home food and I am also aware it isn't the best option for them. Therefore I was wondering if it would be OK to kind of like make my own food but still have some of that commercial mix in it. This is what I have so far: 150-200g p@h gerbil food 150g budgie food (with little poppy seeds and rice) 100-150g natural forage from Wilko ( www.wilko.com/small-pet-food+treats/wilko-natures-salad-mix/invt/0417688 ) 25g dried carrot 25g dried beetroot 25g pumpkin and sunflower seeds 50g oatmeal So I don't really know if this is good for them i used ideas from different youtubers and websites so criticism would be great, thank you!

Sorry, this one slipped under the radar?
And yes,m the PAH food does look rather dull and boring I must agree - but then nutrition isn't all about looks.
All of those things you list are fine to feed gerbils (except possibly research the beetroot a bit more as I don't know enough about it myself).
There are plenty of threads on here from the expert breeders who talk about the balance you need and some suggested diet plans for home-made foods - perhaps you can learn a bit more about the nutritional contents of these and match it up to your own diet.
Are your gerbils just pets or are you hoping to breed from them?
