gerbilysqueak: I also have one more important question, my female Jun 8, 2013 18:12:59 GMT -8
gerbilysqueak: keeps sneezing loudly what does it mean? im worried Jun 8, 2013 18:13:20 GMT -8
gerbilysqueak: Its worrying me a lot she wasn't doing that when I got her Jun 8, 2013 18:14:18 GMT -8
Doctor Digby: so you have a tank topper? and also what type of bedding do you use? the bedding may be very dusty and inhibiting their breathing causing the sneezing. I use Kaytee clean and cozy it is 99% dust free. Jun 8, 2013 18:38:19 GMT -8
gerbilysqueak: i dont have a tank topper i want one but dont got a job yet, and i use Sunthing Special Aspen Bedding I got from PlanetPet. Jun 8, 2013 23:38:58 GMT -8
Doctor Digby: Well I just ordered a new Tank Topper for Digby on amazon.com for a total of 36$ that includes the shipping and handling. Jun 9, 2013 4:49:44 GMT -8
gerbilysqueak: that's awesome!! hope Digby loves it! Jun 9, 2013 6:02:40 GMT -8
gerbilysqueak: also my beddin g couldn't be whats making her sneeze since it has no dust in it. Should I switch to Carefresh or Corncob? Jun 9, 2013 6:04:00 GMT -8
ffs: carefresh is dusty. my gerbil is sniffly on and off and also sneezes. i think it is bad breeding to be honest. Jun 9, 2013 7:51:34 GMT -8
gerbilysqueak: I never knew Carefresh was dusty with my past gerbils they've had no problem with it, I guess it depends on the gerbil really. and I don't really understand your question on breeding, are you saying its bad to breed or the bedding is bad to use for it? Jun 9, 2013 10:24:10 GMT -8
ffs: no i mean my gerbil is from a line of petshop gerbils who are unlikely to have good genes as they are bred for colour above all else. Jun 9, 2013 10:57:47 GMT -8
gerbilysqueak: thats pretty sad I feel bad for mine but I'm gona try to take them to the vet soon Jun 9, 2013 12:17:19 GMT -8
bribanabonana: hey every one I was wondering if any one knew if it was safe or not to let my gerbil dig in dirt from out side?? Jun 11, 2013 11:29:13 GMT -8
Laurerz: Hey Bribana, I'd say not. You never know how safe the dirt from outside is, what with all sorts of chemicals in gardens and bug stuff etc. Jun 11, 2013 15:51:44 GMT -8
ffs: i know you can give them compost, but as far as i am aware it is best to sterilise it (although this might be wrong). you also need to make sure it doesn't have anything added to it (like fertilizers). not sure if peat based or not is best? Jun 12, 2013 0:19:48 GMT -8 *
rodentsrule: bribanabonana, you would need some nice, clean, fresh dirt. Well. I don't know because my gerbil digs in his bedding. No chemicals in dirt. Gerbils originate from the desert , so I don't know. Jun 12, 2013 12:25:54 GMT -8
ninestone: Maybe some play sand? You might want to sift it and then dampen it to keep the dust down. Jun 12, 2013 13:33:14 GMT -8
jon: Hi Gerbil forum girls/guys, has anyone had experience of giving antibiotics to their geibil? Jun 13, 2013 2:43:08 GMT -8
angsgerbils: I'm starting to breed gerbils does anyone have any advice Jun 14, 2013 21:05:08 GMT -8
Feeona: Read as much as you can about gerbils and breeding, google it and read as many websites as possible to get a full spectrum of information. Make sure you can find homes for your gerbils if you`re not keeping them. Jun 17, 2013 12:05:38 GMT -8
