I'm just surprised that the cat could care less! Hugs, Cathie;) My dog used to do that too! Now she sleeps with the gerbil! ;D My puppy (she looks a bit stressed in that one)

As much as most of my gerbils love to play in the ball, I don't think I will let them play in it any longer because they keep rubbing their noses while in it causing a boo-boo. They get so excited rolling around it-kinda like going full speed. That has to be how it happened. Has this happened to anybody else? Then I got to thinking what if I were to just put them into a ball like this one: Then they would be forced to go only one way and their noses wouldn't be able to rub their nose up against the holes in the ball. What do you think? In the meantime, I think they will just play in the playground...

Thanx! ;D Yeah, I have two rubbermaid containers for my gerbils to play in. One is a 50 gallon and the other one is a 30 gallon. This has become a recent thing....Let's see, first it was Sally who got a boo-boo on her nose-more then once. Then it happened to Squirt and Max and now Peaches. *scratches head* I dunno. They jump and bounce around in the ball like they've never gotton out or something. Their poor little noses...... Well, at least some of them actually enjoy the wheel.

I'll have to ask Kate to make a 'sand' pool for our little gerbils to 'bath' in! Hugs, Cathie;)

Mine just *love* the sand. It's fun to watch them roll around in it! ;D Their "pool" is just a reptile bowl. I'm one who doesn't like to throw away things and so I'm glad that I found a way to use it again.
