The AEMV has a listing of vets organized by country and U.S. state. aemv.org/vetlist.cfmThe American Veterinary Medical Association does not currently recognize an Exotic Companion Mammal Specialty, but the AEMV plans to finish the process of establishing one in 2009.

I was debating whether I should merge this with yours, or leave as is and sticky both. May as well sticky both, since this does cover countries other than the US.

I'm looking for a vet in Japan that can deal with tumor surgery on gerbils. I looked at the AEMV list for Japan but none of them have gerbils listed as animals seen. Some of them are really too far away but I am planning to call some up and ask whether they can deal with gerbils or not but it makes me nervous when gerbils aren't even listed!! I'm sure there must be vet somewhere that can deal with it. Can anyone recommend anywhere?

I wonder if there are any small animal veterinarians (I.e. Who does gerbil surgery?) That plan on taking a vacation to Japan? Is that really far-fetched even, in the digital world? I'm not being facetious...people enjoy Japan, and doing surgery on an animal that it could save a life...that's a pretty amazing story to tell at dinner parties. ,
