I don't know how many stores are over here. There was a big scandle with the PetsMart because the pets just weren't treated well. The small creatures couldn't always access their water and with the really sick pets they didn't get the vet to put them down or responably dispose of the bodies. Also alot of people found that their pets (even when they personally kept it proberly) died early, like 2 weeks after they bought them. People over here just are not keep on selling pets in large stores. I mean they aren't simpally an item. I know my latest gerbil hasn't ever been handled and he bit me twice out of fear (he has carmed down now) and so isn't suitable for a child.
I really don't think that they do that to the pets over here. They just think of them as 'items' and don't really care for their health that much. One of the gerbils had the top of the tail bald and they thought that was 'normal'

Well, we have a treatment room with treatment tanks for all of our small animals but to my recollection we have never had a sick gerbil. We have had gerbils returned that we adopted out, but hamsters are usually what get sick. Gerbils are hardy creatures and when we get them in they are usually all gone within a couple of weeks and then it's forever before we get more in for me to play with We have an in-store vet clinic that proscribes meds and treatment for all of our small animals and euthanised animals are disposed of in a decent way. -Jeremiah

That shows that it is different over there. They weren't useing the vet here cos it cost them something. They were also just putting the bodies out with the normal rubbish. The 4 month gerbil which was on its own (for atleast a month), I have successfully intergrated with my other 3 in uder 3 days

It's really unfortunate that that's the case over there. The 4 month gerbil which was on its own (for atleast a month), I have successfully intergrated with my other 3 in uder 3 days That's great! I'm glad he found a home with you. -Jeremiah

I don't know... I just had a strong scence that he would get on with my ones. Apperntly he was seperated for 'fighting'. Perosnoally I think he was seperated cos he was too old to be with the others. Unfortunaltly they are overstocked. There are quite a few 'older animals' there
