PetFinder has listing of many non profit animal rescue groups from all over Canada and the United States. If you cannot find a gerbil in your area there, look up a local rescue group and e-mail them explaining what you are looking for.
There are hundreds of homeless gerbils out there in need of homes. Some rescues may not list the ones they have, or they may not have any at that time. So it is best to contact them. They could have gerbils come in in the future or can help you with information on where you can adopt close to home.
