Disaster struck yesterday as the female killed the darker pup in an attempt to drive them out of the nest.
Eddie Cope has assured me this is something that sometimes happens in small litters as the female gets pregnant much quicker and her urgency to get ride of the pups before her new litter is more severe. Therefore I don't need to worry about behavioural/ hereditory problems from our female, but upsetting nether the less.
We are expecting another big litter from her as shes huge again like she was with the first litter where she had 8 and raised them all successfully.
The siamese baby is fine though hes now living with his older brother from the previous litter and is eating and drinking normally.
Fingers crossed for the new litter when they arrive.

Sad to hear! That is also new to me (luckely), but if Eddie told you that it has to be true! ;D He knows a lot! But good to hear that the siamese pup is fine, and that you will have soon newborn pups!

We had happiness this morning our female had 7 babies in the night. Eddie was right!!.. ;D She seems to be very happy with them, but to give her a rest we have taken her male away hes now with his sons, but we are going to keep re-introducing them so he can go back with her when the pups are weaned. We just want her to slow down with the litters!. I will get some piccys of them later for you all. I knew she had last night as when I woke up the male was sleeping by himslef in the other corner of the tank.. Hes very good he always gives her 2 days before getting sexy with her or going near her for that matter. But he is one of Eddies males after all.. Andrea

I know a Dutch breeder who has now 3 females that have pups every 2,5 /3 weeks, she said! The mothers will shase off the existing pups, that are still too young! She feeds the pups, but this is not what she wants. She will probably place the pups with another female!
A bit of the same problem isn't it! I think that taking the male away is also a solution for her!
BTW, we always like pictures! ;D

7 is a lot! Some would maybe not like such young pups, because they don't have any fur! But personally I really like seeing these young pups, as I like to see all pups in all development stadia! I like to see them grow up.

She seems to be very fertile ! . Her first litter was a litter of 9 which she raised perfectly with no intervention, although she does not really have much patience for them when they are at weaning age, then she had the 2 which upset her a little.
Now we have these 7!. I will take some more piccies when the fur starts to appear ;D

My maximum is 7 pups in one litter! Usually they have about 5!
