The eyes are starting to pop open today, lots of pups scratching their eyes..
yes they are drinking from the mum, becuase their is 7 they seem to bombard her a little..
The male is back with her now, she accepted him back no problems, hopefully this has delayed them having another litter for a bit, shes nice plump again, I was quite worried about letter her have a third litter in a row but she seems to have recovered well.

Here they all are with the eyes open, very boring colours in this litter, hopefully some more siamese will appear in the next.

The male is a siamese and the female is a burmese.
They have had siamese in previous litters but the siamese seems to be in less numbers.

oh I get it...
I've got a question: you have siamese and burmese, the pups are they all as dark as the burmese? or are they sometimes much lighter? because that is what we are calling tokanes here in holland

Tigru, what is in your opinion a tokanese gerbil than! I still don't understand that! Do you mean that it is a siamese that is bad-coloured, a bit darker than it should be? Or a burmese that is somewhat darker than it should be (according to the standard)? The first place where the name tokanese was used for gerbils was on the website of Iris (a Dutch breeder with a big gerbilwebsite: www.woestijnratjes.nl). I've never encoutered the name "tokanese" anywhere else on the whole internet or in books! In my opinion is a siamese always a siamese (aa cBcH D- E- G- P- spsp). And a burmese always a burmese (aa cBcB D- E- G- P- spsp). What is different in the genetics of a tokanese than? In my personal opinion nothing! Please can you explain what you mean with tokanese?? Can a burmese as well as a siamese be a tokanese, or only the siamese or only the burmese? And what about the other colourpoint colours, like cp slate, cp nutmeg, cp agouti, etc.? (a burmese is nothing else than a cp black and a siamese nothing more than a light siamese black) I hope you can tell us.

Is a tokenese what we call in the UK a Light CP Slate, like most of our pups are.
The burmese is much browner than the slate but we have some slates that are lighter.
In the first litter this pair had we had a clear 4 colours, some definatly siamese and some definatly burmese and one definate CP slate, but the others were not burmese butto light to be CP slate?...
I hope that makes sense.

I don't know what a cp slate is in dutch, so I can't tell you, a tokanese is what we call a bad coloured burmese... it's much lighter than a burmese but darker than a siamese... I have siamese, but no burmese, only tokanese... but a burmese (I saw one by Iris) is really dark, but mine are much lighter... almost grey but the tail nose and ears are as dark as a burmese or siamese... I hope you can understand what I mean... I'll ask at the dutch forum this question also, maybe someone can explain it much easier than I do
I asked it, and tokanese isn't an official colour, it is just a wrong coloured burmese or siamese, so it can have both genetica

Is this what you call Tonkenese?.. This is our CP slate male, the colour in england is not yet standardised and is shown as a general cp..

It really looks like it, is it the same as a bad coloured burmese (to light) or siamese (to dark)?
