my female is pregnant again and she constantly runs in the excercise wheel. is this safe becaue she is pregnant? it's not just the running, but that she runs extremely fast, and it seems she does the running quite a lot. my male is always making nest preparations and adding to the one they already have, but she mostly runs in the wheel. i just don't want her to hurt the unborn pups. does anyone know anything about this?

I think it is safe! Pregnant females are usually as active as normal! My Mongolian gerbils don't have wheels, but my fat-tailed gerbils have, and when they are pregnant they use their wheels a lot too! And the pups are fine!

Hi, Mine are the same. They will be as active as they usually are more or less until they have the pups. I have a pair like yours where the male does all the house/nest building! The pups will be fine even with their mother being so active. She's probably just enjoying her freedom because she won't get as much time to play once the pups arrive. Don't remove the wheel because if you disrupt her usual play it may stress her and that's what will cause the most harm to the pups. Floppy
