Hi all in the last few days I have been with my gerbils for like 6hours a day and lots of questions have sprang in my head.. especially that they are both finally tame ;D 1) I have heard you can give gerbils cat food? My Cat eats James Wellbeloved if that helps 2) My Parents have a Dulce Gusto Coffee machine and we get a ton of small boxes for a pack of capsules the have printings on the outside like most boxes can I use them??? 3) I think my Cookies will make a brilliant agility gerbil can anyone suggest a good way to start training  4) Halloween is fast approaching and we have a pumpkin, what do I need to do to prepare the seeds Thanks for any answers Emmy, Cookies and Cream ;D |

Hi Emmys gerbils  I will answer the questions I can I don't have cats but my trio do enjoy the odd dog biscuit. Those boxes will be fine, I use the exact same ones, I love my coffee If any of the coffee capsules burst in the box though don't give it to them I'm sure there is a thread somewhere about agility, I will try and find it. My trio love pumpkin seeds but I've only used packet ones but someone else will give you some advice. Hope i was some help |

Hi Cheekygerbils and btw you can call me Emmy or Emma I dont mind I might have to try them with the cat biscuits then later Good good we have like 20 of those boxes around atm and dont wrorry I will check for burst capsules. that rule is a tuffy, but it's well worth the wait Your gerbils should love the boxes. Now I would assume you could just bake the seeds in the oven and feed them, but I'm not sure. For my crabs, I am simply baking them and not putting salt on them, as the crabs are allergic to table salt. For gerbils however, I have heard that a little bit of salt is actually good for them, so that leaves me to wonder... |

Wash the seeds in water, put them on a baking tray and roast it on low heat (100'C max) for 20-30 minutes till lightly golden but don't burn them. YouTube has great advice for agility training |

I love pumpkin seeds Except i wouldnt be able to share mine with my little buddies, we add alot of different seasionings to ours lol, But if they could eat pumpkin pie(I know they cant) I could share that with them, I make a bunch. From last years 2 pumkins i had i made 14 pumpkin pies YUMMY |

I love pumpkin and its seeds too. When Korny was a wee little man (  ) I used to crack the seeds open when they were out which was a breakthrough with them as they got tame quick, running up my chest and begging for the seeds |

Eszter: I like them too but nobody else in my family does, I remember last year everyone was out or upstairs the bag with all the pumpkin inners was just too tempting so I sat in the kitchen eating them for hours I found it funny when my mum picked it up after I had eaten them all and said hmm I am sure this was heavier before ;D I wonder Why...
Aww I cant imagine Korny not tame he seems like a little star from what i have read, I hope he is recovering well from his surgery about a week ago ;D ;D

Yes they are a must in our clan too it was the first treat they had and still their fave ;D I turned my back for two seconds and Cookies is out of the unit and in the food container, what was he digging for.... the pumpkin seed right at the bottom I hadnt dug out yet  I wasnt happy to have to pick all of the food he had kicked out all over the floor  No problem, Korny is such a cutie according to your signature its Korny's Birthday on tuesday, extra pumpkin seeds I think for Korny ;D |

Ha ha ha my Fester done that once with the food tub plus he did a pee in the tub......no manners! It's great when they have a favourite treat, my trio's favourite is peas |

Cool mine havent had peas yet as me and my brother dont really like them so we dont buy them often. ha ha ha ha ;D I only buy peas for my trio, believe me or not ;D i like peas but i dont eat them as they have funny effects on my digesting system Popcorn is ok but make sure it is not sweet or salty, also not too much as that is not as nutrious as green vegetables |
